The Industrial Gadgets product family has reached it's end of life, effective January 1, 2026. ActiveX is a legacy technology no longer supported by Microsoft. The .NET components were built on GDI+ graphics technology and although WPF replaced GDI+ in Microsoft's technology stack for the desktop, modern applications today built on browsers use SVG graphics technology.
The Symbol Factory Universal product offering contains the same graphic artwork that was part of these products PLUS new enhanced versions of the graphics that enable color change and animation from your code on part of the symbol, libraries of your revised symbols, all in formats suitable for modern software applications, specifically SVG and VML as well as traditional raster format exports such as PNG, JPG, etc. This is a suitable migration path though there is not a commercial migration path from Industrial Gadgets to that offering.
Symbol Factory Universal is also available for licensing under special OEM/ISV terms if you want to include it on your commercial off-the-shelf software.
While existing deployments of the products can continue operating, new licenses and support agreement renewals are no longer available and we will not be able to reset lost activations.
