Windows 10 support ends October 14, 2025. Unsupported systems don’t just increase cybersecurity risk, they can break compliance, jeopardize production continuity, and leave your edge-to-enterprise-to-cloud data chain vulnerable. For engineers managing critical IT/OT software solutions, this end-of-life milestone is not something to ignore.

Why You Need To Take Action Now

Proactive assessment and migration are essential

With Windows 10 support ending on October 14, 2025, proactive assessment and migration are no longer optional, they’re urgent. The deadline is near, and waiting increases the risk of downtime, compliance gaps, and costly disruptions. Testing and upgrading to supported versions now give you the best chance for a smooth transition and stable operation.

Staying current is critical

Maintaining an active support program ensures access to updates, patches, and technical assistance when you need it most. These updates are not just about new features; they are essential for keeping your systems secure and operational. Without them, even minor vulnerabilities can escalate into major disruptions.

Reduce operational risk when you can

Upgrading before Windows 10 EOL prevents unexpected failures, data inconsistencies, and security gaps that can ripple across your IT/OT environment. Early action protects your plant floor systems, HMIs, SCADA, gateways, and enterprise integrations, keeping your entire data chain running reliably.

What about Windows 10 LTSC?

If you’re running Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC, your support timeline lasts longer:

  • LTSC 2019 → supported until Jan 9, 2029
  • LTSC 2021 → supported until Jan 12, 2027

This gives you more time, but not a free pass, LTSC editions will also reach end-of-life.
