TOP Server provides the ability to make changes to the configuration on the run in the user interface when in Runtime configuration mode, through special system tags or via web service calls to the Configuration API. Many other servers require you to disconnect the client application to make configuration changes. This ability greatly decreases start-up and testing time as well as simplifying system maintenance and reducing downtime.
Scaling your static tags in TOP Server allows raw device data to be converted to engineering units for OPC client applications. TOP Server provides a number of unique scaling features that make it easy to implement scaling in your application.
TOP Server supports direct scaling of device data. Static Tag creation in the OPC server is required to use this feature, which is standard among OPC products.
Multi-core and multi-processor CPU's are commonplace and TOP Server has been engineered to work with and more importantly benefit from these powerful processing technologies. TOP Server takes the next step in leveraging the processing capabilities of these multi-processor systems, providing flexible configuration options that can be changed to meet the needs of each project.
The ability to specify a Network Interface Card (NIC) in the TOP Server configuration for each channel enables changing the assigned network adapter for a connection on the run. This is useful for supporting redundant networks and also makes it possible to monitor and change which network adapter is used by the channel for communications from any client application.
TOP Server provides an OPC ProgID Redirect feature which is primarily useful for replacing other OPC DA servers without requiring a lot of changes to the client application.
This functionality allows users to map another OPC server’s OPC ProgID registration to TOP Server, such that any OPC DA client using the other OPC server’s ProgID will access TOP Server instead.

TOP Server includes support for localized languages currently covering German,
Japanese and Chinese for most server-level components including the Configuration, menus, dialogs, help documentation, event log and more.
Additionally, the most commonly used drivers for each localized region include support for that localized language.

The demo is the full product once licensed. Once a client application connects to the TOP Server, the TOP Server runtime will operate for 2 hours at a time. At the end of the 2 hour demo period, the demo timer must be reset by restarting the TOP Server runtime service.
