The SIXNET UDR Driver works in conjunction with TOP Server® to provide data exchange between OPC UA, OPC DA, SuiteLink and DDE clients and SIXNET RTUs, as well as the IPM Linux-based RTU, using the native SIXNET UDR protocol over both Serial and Ethernet connections. Created in partnership with SIXNET, this driver is endorsed as the official OPC interface for SIXNET products.
This driver uses SIXNET supplied communication software modules that enable it to run simultaneously with the SIXNET I/O Tool Kit and ISaGRAF Workbench. This unique capability allows users to perform configuration changes, data log file transfers, analog calibrations, and numerous other system functions while also gathering data in real-time. This capability is supported in both Ethernet and Serial communications, including over phone lines and wireless radio connections.
Solicited and unsolicited communication can be performed at the same time by creating multiple virtual UDR server devices to accept and process unsolicited commands as though they were actual I/O devices on the network, allowing UDR client and server operations to occur simultaneously over separate channels in the same configuration. Data acquisition is optimized based on upstream client demand while data integrity is ensured using extensive error handling.
