Connect to Remote Rockwell AB Controllers Using ControlLogix as a Gateway
The concept behind routing is to provide a means of communicating with a remote device over various networks. Just think of routing as a bridge between your local device and a remote device even if they are on two different field bus networks. Rockwell supports using their ControlLogix PLC as a router or gateway to other Rockwell networks.
Access to a remote (target) backplane allows for direct communication with the following modules located on that remote backplane:
- ControlLogix 5500 CPUs
- SoftLogix 5800 CPUs
- Interface Modules for DH+ Gateway Applications
- 1756-DHRIO
- Interface Modules for ControlNet Gateway Applications
- 1756-CNB
- 1756-CNBR
Communications Networks Supported:
- Ethernet (Ethernet/IP)
- Data Highway Plus
- ControlNet
- Serial Gateway
