The AutomationDirect EBC Ethernet driver works in conjunction with TOP Server® to provide data exchange between OPC UA, OPC DA, SuiteLink and DDE clients and AutomationDirect Ethernet Base Controllers using the EBC protocol over UDP Ethernet connections. Data acquisition is optimized based on upstream client demand while data integrity is ensured using extensive error handling.
NOTE: The EBC module is used to communicate directly with the I/O in the rack without a CPU. If you need to communicate with an AutomationDirect PLC that has a CPU in the rack, then you are using the ECOM module and need to use the ECOM Ethernet Driver (also included in the AutomationDirect Suite).
