Product Overview

The TOP Server® WITS Level 0 Passive driver is used to transfer wellsite data from one computer system, such as a Measurement While Drilling (MWD) device, to HMI, SCADA, and OPC client applications without active polling. This facilitates real-time monitoring of data such as compass direction, borehole pressure, temperature, vibration, shock, torque and more, which is commonly required by exploration and production service and operating companies.

This unsolicited mode allows the server to receive data by exception from WITS devices without having to send requests for data to the devices. This driver provides connectivity to wellsite devices supporting the WITS (Wellsite Information Transfer Specification) Level 0 Passive protocol over Serial connections, including EDR, LWD, MWD, and other integrated systems in the oil & gas industry.
