Monitor device availability using ICMP ping over Ethernet
This driver is only available as part of the following TOP Server driver suites:
Device Types Supported
Client Interfaces (OPC UA/DA, SuiteLink, DDE)
Status Tags per Device (Online + Response Time)
Protocol, Zero Agents Required (ICMP)
The Ping Driver works in conjunction with TOP Server® to provide data exchange between OPC UA, OPC DA, SuiteLink and DDE clients and unmanaged Ethernet devices using the ICMP (Ping) protocol.
Not all Ethernet network devices are SNMP managed. To help monitor any system from within your HMI, the Ping driver automatically generates OPC tags for each Unmanaged device defined and then uses the "ping" command to check their status. These "heartbeat" and "response time" tags provide a standardized and reliable way to monitor all devices in the Ethernet network.
Proven benefits for network device availability monitoring
Monitors device availability using ICMP echo requests
Reports device online or offline status in real time
Measures ping response time for network devices
Supports monitoring of multiple devices across the network
Simple configuration for fast deployment with minimal setup
Ideal for integrating network health data into SCADA and industrial systems
