The TOP Server IEC 60870-5-101 Serial Client OPC Driver provides a communication interface for RTUs, IEDs, controllers, and gateways supporting the IEC 60870-5-101 serial protocol for electrical substation automation and power utility SCADA applications.

Works in conjunction with TOP Server's OPC DA, OPC UA & AVEVA SuiteLink client interfaces to deliver connectivity with HMI, SCADA, MES, and Historian applications. Supports balanced and unbalanced communication modes, spontaneous data transmission (Class 1 and Class 2), general interrogation, time synchronization, and all standard ASDU types.
