OPC Router Troubleshooting, Monitoring & Operations Dashboards

Optimize Deployments, Solve Problems Quickly with Integrated Tools + OpenTelemetry Integration

The OPC Router's connection diagnostics have long ensured transparent and reliable monitoring of data communication. With version 5.4, monitoring was expanded to include a new function specifically for plug-ins.

Users can track the status, utilization and performance of individual plug-ins in detail. This makes it possible to see how efficiently the individual plug-ins are working and whether there is potential for optimization.

OpenTelemetry Integration of Diagnostic Data

OPC Router diagnostic data can be shared for external analysis and dashboarding.

Use with tools such as Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus and others supporting the OpenTelemetry standard to support your DevOps goals and overall system success.

Status Chart / Viewer

The status chart provides detailed information about the individual data transfers as shown here and is the first place to look at activity in a workflow.  Below the status graph the workflow is shown with real-time data updates on each connection between transfer objects.

OPC-Router-OPC-UA-Multiple-Read-Diagnostic-View-wJsonExpanded-1000wThe status bar changes color when an error occurs, a warning appears, or the connection is broken. The status bar turns orange (checking the connection) when the connection is checked and shown in red if the connection is not present (error in the plug-in). If everything is OK, the status bar will turn green (Ready).

  • If you click on a transfer point, it will be shown in light blue and the data will be displayed under the status chart.
  • If you move the mouse to a transfer point, the execution time is displayed.
  • Above the status chart, you will find the buttons “Previous Transfer” and “Next Transfer” to display the transfer next to the previously selected transfer. With the button “Switch to live view”, you can observe the progress of the individual transfers.

Configurable Connection Execution Diagnostic Storage

Problems never happen when you are watching systems, so OPC Router can store diagnostic data, but limit the amount and level of detail to what is appropriate based on your operating requirements. The images below show some of the configuration options available for diagnostics storage.

Escalation Levels Manage Diagnostic Storage Space

The OPC Router recognizes when too much status data is being recorded or the database storage is almost full. To prevent a full storage and RAM, the OPC Router automatically initiates increasingly stronger countermeasures. The transmission of user data is NOT impaired by these measures! The measures only affect the status data recording of the OPC Router.  Five different levels manage the status database size and internal memory ring buffer to keep the system responsive.  The example below shows how you can configure the behavior to your needs for each escalation level.

The demo is the full product. When you put an OPC Router project into runtime, it will stop operating after 2 hours and have to be restarted. Purchase of a license will remove the restriction.
