High Availability Redundant OPC Router Instances

For the example application shown here, the two OPC Routers with the Redundancy Add-on are installed in a network as primary and secondary. Monitoring & secure project configuration synchronization takes place between the instances at a rate you define and in the event of a functional failure of the primary OPC Router, the secondary OPC Router automatically takes over all tasks from the hot stand-by. As soon as the primary OPC Router is available again, the secondary OPC Router automatically switches back to hot stand-by mode.  

This solution can be implemented with any combination of OPC Router features, not just the one shown here and with redundant data sources connections.

Redundancy Configuration

OPC Router Nodes are designated as primary or secondary in a redundant configuration, and projects are automatically synchronized (V5.4 and newer) over a secure link with pre-shared key and certificates that you configure and accept between the nodes. 

Rate of synchronization, heartbeat interval, and timeout settings are fully user configurable.

Project synchronization can be tested before deployment with one button click.

Redundant Data Connections

Redundant SAP systems, database systems such as SQL, MySQL, Oracle and others, as well as OPC UA and Classic DA systems can be handled as redundant data connections.

Licensing OPC Router Redundancy

OPC Router Redundancy can be added to any system as part of the Enterprise+ Add-On pack in perpetual subscriptions, or in Enterprise Subscriptions at time of purchase or add-on later.
