One of the common uses for TOP Server is with Historian & Logging software packages to provide access to process and production data.  It is important the communications server you choose works with as many software applications and process hardware types as possible.  TOP Server is frequently used with AVEVA Historian (formerly Wonderware Historian), AVEVA Pi System (OSIsoft Pi), Aspentech, Canary Labs, GE Historian, and many others listed below on this page.  Any Historian that supports OPC DA or OPC UA can work with TOP Server.

Can my historian connect to TOP Server?

If your historian or logging package is one of the large number that support one of the OPC standards or one of those non-OPC interfaces as a client, then you’ll be able to connect to TOP Server.
